NA Approves Sixth Plenary Session to Include Cambodia-Korea FTA

PHNOM PENH: The National Assembly meeting on Monday has approved the sixth plenary session to be conducted on Wednesday to approve important draft laws including the Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement. The initial session on Monday was led by the National Assembly president Heng Samrin.

The assembly has approved Wednesday’s agenda including the Draft Law on Amendment to the Law on Commercial Enterprises and the Draft Law on the Amendment of the Law on Commercial Rules and Commercial Registration. The commercial draft laws is expected to tackle about the enterprises or businesses in Cambodia as well as the trade rules and business registration.

The Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement was signed virtually on 26 October. It aims to liberalise the two countries bilateral trade and enhance the economic and social cooperation through reciprocal advantages and understanding of the two nations. In addition, the free trade agreement will also bind and lay a catalyst pathway for economic recovery that has been impacted by Covid-19 in both countries.
